In the afternoon, start your sightseeing with drive through the downtown area, full of colonial-era buildings, followed by a visit to Chinatown and the Indian quarter. Then drive to Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake for a photo stop before enjoying sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2500 years old and is always full with people praying and making offerings, particularly on full moon and religious days. Pyay – Popa – Bagan (special chartered engine) Rise early for the 05:00 special chartered service to Kyaukpadaung. Breakfast and lunch on the train. Arrive about 15:00 at Kyaukpadaung. This morning, start your Bagan sightseeing with a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda, Kyansittha Umin 'Cave'Temple, Htilominlo, Ananda Temple and Thatbyinnyu 'Omniscient' Temple. Then check in to your hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit Mingalazedi, Gubyaukgyi Temple, Nanpaya Temple, Manuha Pagoda and Myazedi Stupa, as well as Moe Moe Lacquer Ware Factory to see local handicrafts being made. Bagan – Mandalay After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the railway station for the 07:00 (119 UP) departure to Mandalay. Lunch on train and arrive about 13:40 at Mandalay. Mandalay – Pyin oo lwin – Mandalay Leave Mandalay on the 04:45 departure (131 UP) for Pyin Oo Lwin. Arrive at Pyin Oo Lwin at 08:09 h arrival Pyin Oo Lwin. Located about 60 kilometres east of Mandalay, the town is 1,100 metres above sea level and enjoys cool and pleasant weather the whole year round. Take a horse carriage to Pwe Kauk WaterFall, National Kandawgyi Garden, Maha Ant Htoo Kan Tha Pagoda and the Chinese temple, all the while enjoying the many colonial buildings. Stroll around one of the Shan villages near the railway station to get a glimpse of village life. Mandalay – Thazi After breakfast at the hotel, your morning sightseeing begins with a visit to Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings followed by Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's biggest book for its many stone slabs inscribed with Buddhist scripture. Continue to the famous Mahamuni Pagoda, a sacred Buddha image. Afterwards, enjoy short visits to marble, bronze and gold foil making workshops. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Yangon Departure
Breakfast on the train. Arrive at Yangon 11:35 and transfer to your hotel. Relax at your hotel for the rest of the day (room use included) and transfer to Yangon International Airport in the evening for your departure flight. |
