6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS
Yangon – Mandalay – Yangon (Golf Package)
|
| Myanmar Golf Tour |
| Golf is an international game – there is hardly a country in the world without a golf course, and Myanmar is no exception. Many towns in Myanmar have at least one golf course if not more. Yangon is a city of many golf courses, including Pun Hlaing Golf Course, an international standard course designed by Gary Player. Bagan Golf Course is set among centuries-old pagodas, while Ayetharya Golf Course is beautifully laid out in the shadow of the hazy blue mountains of southern Shan State. Many have heard of Mount Popa, but few know that there is a golf course nearby. The oldest course in the country is thought to be at Thayetmyo, in central Myanmar. Said to have links with the famous St Andrews Golf Course, it turned 100 years just a few years back. |

The course was designed by SATO/Japan, has an international format and will be one of the best in Myanmar in the years to come. Set in a valley surrounded by the Yedagon Hills with many pagodas on the slopes, it is a unique and spectacular course featuring some fancy “specialities” such as small man-made ponds on the fairways or sandtrap-shaped, shallow water hollows protecting the greens instead of bunkers (as there are real bunkers as well, they must be intentional, not just a shortage of sand!). The new clubhouse when finished will be first class, offering a full range of facilities. There is also a driving range and a putting green. No carts but caddies for this level walking course with 18 holes at Par 72. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Sagaing Hill and the hill itself has a number or stupas and monasteries. Visit to Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, then drive to Amarapura and enjoy the sunset at U-Bein Bridge, which is 1.2km long leak bridge over the Taung Thaman Lake. Dinner and accommodation at Hotel, Mandalay.
