6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS
Yangon – Bagan – Popa – Yangon (Golf Package)
|
| Myanmar Golf Tour |
| Golf is an international game – there is hardly a country in the world without a golf course, and Myanmar is no exception. Many towns in Myanmar have at least one golf course if not more. Yangon is a city of many golf courses, including Pun Hlaing Golf Course, an international standard course designed by Gary Player. Bagan Golf Course is set among centuries-old pagodas, while Ayetharya Golf Course is beautifully laid out in the shadow of the hazy blue mountains of southern Shan State. Many have heard of Mount Popa, but few know that there is a golf course nearby. The oldest course in the country is thought to be at Thayetmyo, in central Myanmar. Said to have links with the famous St Andrews Golf Course, it turned 100 years just a few years back. |

Breakfast at hotel. This morning enjoy your golfing at Popa Golf Club, the last and – although only 9 holes and a good 1 ½ hours drive from Bagan – the most charming course is Mt. It has (sorry, again no ladies tees) different tees per hole to change the yardage to a total of two Par 36. Not too tough challenges are caused by group of tees on doglegs, ravines and the "Brown" (sand-green) of the Par 4#5 and #14. Enjoy lunch at hotel.
In the afternoon, visit Mount Popa, home to Myanmar's intriguing 'nats' (spirits). The steps and path climb steeply up Mount Popa – an energetic climb rewarded by fabulous views from the top. Then drive back to Bagan. Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at Hotel, Bagan.
