If you are looking to cease sensation, avoid distress from hopelessness and escape a world full of worries, we have a different kind of travel package for you. Meditation is offered at a number of sites throughout Yangon and after just a few days of training, you should begin to improve your concentration and experience positive mental changes.We can help with the application procedure to centre and if necessary arrange transfers and accommodation before, during and after the meditation course. Before or after your training we can arrange visits to other worthy sites in Myanmar, such as Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake.

NOTES:
- Throughout the meditation period only Myanmar longyi (sarong) can be worn. Western dress, such as shorts and skirts, are not allowed
- Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian breakfast and lunch are served at the centre. However, as you have to keep the eight precepts you must abstain from eating solid food after noon
- There will not be any evening meals but soft drinks are allowed after midday
- All yogis (meditation trainees) are expected to keep the eight precepts during their stay at the meditation centre; these rules will be explained by the meditation teachers
- Each Yogi will receive personal guidance and attention throughout the course and will have the opportunity to gain meditation knowledge.
- Smoking, drinking alcohol, chewing tobacco or betel nut and the use of recreational drugs are strictly forbidden
- Everyone must attend the group sittings at their respective meditation hall

MAHASI MEDITATION CENTRE
Mahasi Meditation Centre is located in Hermitage Avenue on Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. There are more than 100 buildings on the site for housing meditation teachers and yogis. Both men and women are provided with complete retreat facilities. Foreign yogis seeking admission should be ready and willing to undergo full-time vipassana meditation, according to the rules and regulations. Boarding and lodging costs are free for foreign Yogis during the period of their stay and practice at the centre.

International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Yangon Myanmar
The university was established on December 9, 1998 at Dhammapala Hill in Yangon, near Sacred Tooth Relic Pagoda. Myanmar has carefully preserved Theravada Buddhism for nearly 1000 years and is now sharing its knowledge, in both theory and practice, with people from around the world to promote happiness and moral well-being. For the first time, those who wish to learn Theravada Buddhist canonical texts and traditional insight meditation have the chance to study both at the same institution. |

Academic Requirements
- Any applicant for a Diploma in Buddha Dhamma will have to meet the following requirements.
- Foreign monks, nuns and laymen must have passed at least matriculation or equivalent
- Need to sit an entrance examination prescribed by the university.
- Should have some knowledge of Pali, Sanskrit and Theravada Buddhist scripture. Fluency in spoken and written English is desirable.
